Happy new year!
I realized that despite my promise to incorporate a blog aspect into my new website, I have not been making good on that promise. That changes today, internet. It's been a pretty busy start to 2009 here in Gringa-land, and I'm so thrilled about the exciting year ahead! I've already had the fun of recording a TV show here in NYC for MNN, a local cable access channel. "The Jump" is a new program offered by my friends at DJTR Productions, and I am so honored to have been the first guest on this new series! If you would like to view the program, it is available at: http://blip.tv/play/AwGS3h Q, and on my "Videos" page.
Also, I will be traveling to Brazil this summer to study and perform. I am so excited about this trip, which will only be my second time in Brazil. I will be going as part of a cultural tour through my friends at Samba Nation Productions, and if you're interested in coming along with us, please visit www.sambanation.org for more information.
Finally, I'm starting to get myself in gear to record at long last. It's still a hazy vision at this point, but I'll keep you posted as things develop. I feel so fortunate to be surrounded by the most fantastic musicians, not only in my band, but in all the different projects that I've become involved with over the past year.
Amizade, Jessica
